Two hundred dollars seems like a lot of money for North American long-distance service. Why should someone pay that much?

You are not paying for the service. It is for the hardware(like a phone poll) That they transfer minutes thru and you get paid. All for a one time fee. I am not a member FYI just looking at it.

The Value of Voiparty by: Ben
Hi Mark,
Although on the face of it, $200 may seem expensive for North American Long Distance, it is actually a great deal.
With my current phone provider - Century Link (formerly Embarq), if I want to add long distance to my phone service, it will cost me $15 a month - and that does not include Canada which will cost an additional 7c a minute.
Compare that to Voiparty, where Canada is free, and in addition after little more than a year, you start saving $15 every month compared to Century Link (as Voiparty has a one time fee - not a monthly subscription). In 2 years the box has pretty much paid for itself.
Not only that, but if you choose to grow the network by finding 5 friends who also wish to join, you recoup the cost of the box in the form of bonuses (about $40 for each friend who joins), and additionally start receiving a monthly check!
Voiparty not only pays for itself but allows you to profit - something no other long distance phone provider that I am aware of is allowing the general public to do.
